Unimagined Sensitivities (2020) contemplates the naked body as always already โ€œdressed in nudityโ€. The work questions the realness of nudity in public space and its relation to mechanisms of observation that enrobe naked bodies in webs of complex, socio-political projections.

Situated within the firm manipulation of todayโ€™s aesthetic economy, the work activates philosophical theories on atmosphere-production and hopes to understand what the felt space of a naked body itself makes naked.

Unimagined sensitivities is the journey of flesh stretching through stages of trance, tenderness and death โ€“ stages of crusting, leathering, healing.

Only animals donโ€™t know how to be fake. Only animals walk into darkness still assured of their own species.

Unimagined Sensitivities was created and premiered in collaboration with K. H. Renlund Museum, Kokkola, Finland. The piece was later performed digitally at Fab festival 2020, Bath, UK.

The work was supported by DAYL residency program.
